I have yet to meet a couple that actually WANTS rain on their wedding day. Although it's a symbol of good luck, rain can mess with our plans for the day. But fear not, I have a list of locations that are perfect in case the clouds don't hold out for us.
The Historic West Bottoms (12th Street Bridge)
This is usually my go-to back up spot if we need to escape the rain. This beautiful bridge in the West Bottoms offers cover for the entire wedding party. Even better, your party bus or trolley can pull right underneath the bridge so no one has to get out in the rain!
Union Station
A great indoor option for photos on your wedding day! Just make sure to make note that there is a photography fee, but it's not too pricey and you can purchase it when you arrive on the day of. You might just need to be a little patient with people walking in the background as Union Station is a Kansas City icon.
Kessler Park
Kessler Park is one of my favorite backdrops for wedding photography in Kansas City, but it also provides shelter in case there is rain! You'll have to walk a few feet in the rain from your transportation on the street, but overall, it's a great option for an outdoor look on a rainy day!
