I was running errands when my older cousin, Alex, called me. We don't usually talk on the phone that much, so I was surprised to see his name pop up. I eagerly answered his call and he told me his best friend was planning to propose to his girlfriend. His best friend, Griffin, has been by his side for as long as I can remember. These two went to grade school together, college together, and were Eagle Scouts together. Hearing that Griffin was planning this moment was so exciting to hear!
It wasn't long before Griffin reached out to me directly. He told me that for months he's been working on an up close painting of his girlfriend wearing the engagement ring. How stinking romantic?! I'm pretty sure any girl would swoon over that. Griffin took care of all of the planning! He reached out to a few art galleries, found one who was willing to display the painting, and coordinated with both of their parents to pop in after the proposal for a surprise. To say that Gloria was shocked was an understatement! Griffin kept this surprise for over a year and it was fun to hear him spill all the beans to Gloria. You could tell just how excited he had been for this moment.
