It’s a scary thought to think that the wedding day is right there and you’ve suddenly realized you need to do XYZ before time runs out! Fear not, as a wedding photographer who spends most of her weekends attending beautiful weddings here in Kansas City, I’ve put together a list of things you might not have thought about for your wedding along with some of my best advice.
I consider it a part of my job to help prepare my clients for their wedding day so they can enjoy the festivities and love stress-free. I’ve done my best to dig deep and find things you might not find elsewhere on the internet. I hope this helps!
Work with your photographer ahead of time to chat about locations for first looks. Make sure they’re tidy and ready to go when it comes time
Set expectations for first looks. Talk about the natural flow of things. Do you want to kiss before the wedding ceremony? Do you plan on reading vows to each other?
Talk with your photographer about who you DO NOT want to see you before your ceremony. If you want to avoid guests seeing you beforehand, make sure you communicate with your photographer and planner so you can plan properly for photos, locations, and a hideaway path
For everyone you are doing a first look with (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc), make sure they are dressed and ready to go about 15 minutes before the scheduled time for their first look
Relax and enjoy the moment! Don't feel pressured to act a certain way just for the cameras
